A gift for your customers is the most cost-effective way to advertise

It seems more like a waste of your hard-earned money! However, we’re convinced that it’s worth more than it costs—even in tough economic times. Why? Read on below.

Showing Appreciation to Your Client
Your client visits you (on average) every 6 weeks for a treatment. When you look at this on an annual basis, it adds up to a significant amount. A small token of appreciation is a great way to show your client that you value them. Your client will certainly appreciate it as well.

Customer Loyalty When you offer your client a small gift, they’re more likely to return to you to book another treatment. This helps you generate revenue for the future. After all, a satisfied client is more likely to book a follow-up treatment.

Cheaper than advertising
An average ad in a local magazine or newspaper can easily cost hundreds of euros, and you often get very little response from it. An investment in promotional gifts really pays off more than those ads!

An easy way to introduce your new product
If you give a miniature sample as a promotional gift, it’s a great way to introduce a new product or treatment to your customers. Once they’ve used up the miniature and liked the product, they’ll go on to purchase a larger package. That way, you’ll earn revenue not only from the treatment but also from product sales.

• Set up a budget throughout the year
If you set aside €0.50 or €1.00 from each treatment all year long, you’ll have built up a nice little nest egg by the end of the year. This way, the customer is essentially paying for their own little gift, and you don’t have to make a separate investment because you’ve already saved up the money.

• Include a discount coupon
Things are often a bit slower at the salon in the period after the holidays. To ensure your schedule stays full during these months, you could include a discount coupon with your client gift or offer a free treatment upgrade that’s only valid during a specific (quieter) period. This way, you’ll continue to attract customers even after the busy season and, at the same time, increase the likelihood that they’ll return to your salon.

• Personalize a gift
Customers always appreciate a gift just a little more when they see that time has been put into it—for example, with a personal note or a few words of goodwill. If you have a lot of different customers, you could also limit this to your regular customers as a special gesture of appreciation for them.

• Get active on social media
Is your December schedule still a little light? Make the most of social media! For example, post on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter to let people know that every customer who books a treatment in December will receive a free gift. Customers love freebies, and this often attracts a lot of people.
